Day and night clock

Day and night clock is a versatile app designed for both day and night use, developed by Stefan Fruhner. It falls under the Personalization category and combines a digital clock with practical features such as alarms, battery status updates, and notifications, adjusting its behavior to the time of day.

What the App Does

The core of Day and night clock is a digital clock that adapts to its surroundings. In dock mode, the clock automatically adjusts its brightness based on the time of day, making it suitable both as a bedside clock at night and as a daytime display. Beyond timekeeping, the app keeps users informed with battery status updates while the device is charging and can enable notifications for missed calls and messages.

Key Features

• Day and night use: A versatile clock designed to work well in both daytime and nighttime settings.
• Dock mode: A digital clock display with automatic brightness adjustment based on the time of day.
• Alarms: Users can easily set and delete alarms using a swipe gesture.
• Battery status: The app provides battery status updates while the device is charging.
• Notifications: Enables notifications for missed calls and messages.
• Weather display: Weather conditions can be displayed through an in-app purchase.

Alarms and Everyday Use

Managing alarms is kept simple: a swipe gesture is all that is needed to set or delete an alarm. Combined with the dock mode display, this makes the app practical as a bedside companion, where the screen brightness adapts to the time of day and the charging battery status is visible while the phone is plugged in overnight.

Weather Conditions

In addition to the clock and notification features, Day and night clock can display weather conditions. This capability is offered through an in-app purchase.

Permissions

The app requires specific permissions to function effectively. These include managing audio settings and screen locking, both of which serve to enhance the user experience.

Open Source and Donations

Day and night clock is an open-source project. Donation options are available for users who wish to support its development.
